Title and Summary

VP, Product Management - Technical Overview
The Decision Management Program (DMP) is an internal product suite that enables intelligent decisions for market facing products. This program provides sophisticated, industry-leading intelligence with a range of capabilities that structure and apply complex business logic across the payment journey and beyond to inform and accelerate decisions at scale. This is achieved by leveraging supercomputing capabilities, AI technologies, a streaming big data cluster, high speed in-memory data caching, APIs, & UIs to enrich data and provide real-time decisions. The VP, Product Management - Technical on Mastercard's DMP team will manage roadmaps spanning across multiple internal products within the DMP suite to provide solutions that enhance products & capabilities offered by Mastercard business units (Cyber & Intelligence/Product & Engineering/Data & Services/MA Technology). This person will be responsible for managing a global team as well as staying hands-on with day-to-day execution operations.

We are looking for a VP, Product Management - Technical to join our St. Louis office.

Role:
The VP, Program Manager - Technical (PM-T) will drive successfully program outcomes by:

•Providing technical platform product management thought leadership for the organization
•Owning the long-term (3-5 years) internal product suite vision and complete platform portfolio
•Driving alignment to trade-off decisions necessary to achieve long-term strategic outcomes across multiple senior leadership levels
•Developing a culture of test and learn experimentation and innovation to solve core business and end customer needs in the platform product domain
•Building and cultivating strong internal customer relationships to establish engagement models for your team and ensure delivery is in alignment with product partner expectations
•Improving profitability margins for externally facing products
•Leading a global organization defining the structures and operating mechanisms that optimize the skills, execution methodology, and outcomes achieve by the program
•Driving a data driven and continuous learning culture across your organization and the program it supports
•Ensuring team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; visibly ties department decisions to leadership principles and tenets
•Defining and building your own scorecard to continuously monitor and analyze key performance indicators and use this data to drive incremental improvements across engineering, architecture, and dependency partners
•Inspecting rigorously the platform products and execution metrics of your PM-Ts using your own tech depth and business acumen to assess risks and continuously raising the delivery bar
•Strengthening and developing your managers and your PM-T staff while continuously raising the bar on performance, technical depth, program management results, and people management as you hire new PM-T's
•Managing escalations
•Demonstrating and differentiating the performance and leadership bar across multiple levels and apply to hiring decisions
•Planning and advocating for department resources


About You:
• Demonstrated success at leading global product outcomes across internal and externally facing product suites
• Demonstrated success at providing product thought leadership for programs with complex technical stacks including business rules engines, high-speed caching capabilities, big data lakes, and AI technologies
• Adept at building consensus and leading resolution of contentious roadmap tradeoff decisions across senior leadership levels
• Expert in agile & waterfall development methodologies, including managing multiple product delivery roadmaps simultaneously
• Thrives working with highly technical products in a fast-paced delivery environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional Data Science, Development teams, and the core product business teams
• Demonstrated success at Improve program processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality across multiple program dimensions

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
