Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN has an exciting opportunity for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist, to join a collegiate multi-specialty practice focusing on quality, outcomes, and compassion. Based in the diverse patient needs, General Gastroenterology care will be required although practice is open to additional areas of interest. The Gastroenterology Division in Mankato, MN has a strong integration with the Division of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic-Rochester, MN, which may provide opportunity for a blended clinical/consultative practice at Mankato research/teaching at Rochester may exist.

The division currently consists of four full-time gastroenterologists and five advanced practice providers, with ongoing recruitment, supporting an in-demand practice in a physician-led, financially stable organization committed to high-quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

Other features about this position include:

  • Purely consultative service with well-established hospitalist program in place.
  • Office, endoscopy suite, and hospital all located in one facility, as well as, Radiology including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine with interventional radiology services and Infusion center on-site.
  • Four fully video integrated procedure rooms with 32” 4K high definition monitors, on ceiling mounted arms, live feed of physiologic monitor on secondary monitor and ceiling mounted equipment boom.
  • Dedicated physician workstation in procedure room, linked to integration system and separate physician workspace, adjacent to procedure rooms.
  • Collegial relationships and collaborations with gastroenterologists at Mayo Clinic across our practices in Rochester/Red Wing MN and La Crosse/Eau Claire WI

Mayo Clinic Health System will expand and modernize its Mankato hospital by adding three new floors atop an existing two-story building on the campus. The new structure will feature 121 additional hospital beds and numerous other improvements. Once completed, technology advancements within the new hospital will foster an even greater culture of excellence while equipping staff with the latest tools to cure, connect and transform community health care. The use of telehealth, digital technology and artificial intelligence will be expanded within the facility, along with design elements and efficiencies to support innovative care models, enhance the patient, and staff experience for years to come.
