Manages a portfolio of initiatives designed to improve the profitability or growth of the MA product. This includes monitoring financial performance across several key business areas and managing revenue and cost control initiatives, or working closely with the Sales/Marketing team to identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to increase plan enrollment. This role will work in a matrixed environment to drive accountability with achieving financial or growth metrics as defined in the MA bid and annual operating plan (AOP).

This position has the option to work hybrid; Cleveland, Ohio area residents preferred. 

Responsibilities

MA Performance Analyst 

  • Manages a portfolio of MA initiatives focused on driving revenue and controling costs, or growing membership and plan promotion. Assists with the development of initiative scope and determines project requirements. Leads cross-functional teams consisting of several key business areas.
  • Holds key areas responsible for achieving the profitability goals or sales and growth metrics defined in the bid and AOP. Activities include:
    • Assists with the implementation of key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly monitors KPIs to identify intervention opportunities. Assists with process and program changes. Or,
    • Works closely with Sales and Marketing and Customer Experience to understand industry trends and monitors sales performance and retention throughout the year. Identifies intervention opportunities and provides ongoing assistance for achieving sales goals. Manages daily Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) operations.
  • Works closely with key business areas to understand departmental MA profitably or growth related goals and influencing factors. Assists with the implementation of risk management procedures. Monitors performance towards achieving MA profitability and growth goals. Escalates potential issues and assists business areas with process updates as needed.
  • Prepares performance summaries, trend reports, project updates and risk management overviews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Sr. MA Performance Analyst 

  • Implements and manages all MA program enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives. Develops initiative scope and determines project requirements. Leads cross-functional teams with various leadership levels. Creates and manages all initiative tools including project plans, timelines and status reports.
  • Assists with the development of MA program strategy decisions. Activities include researching recent industry trends, innovations and program enhancement opportunities. Prepares summaries and provides recommendations on value-added enhancements.
  • Manages the relationship for various MA vendors / first tier, downstream and related entities (FDRs). Holds vendors accountable for CMS regulations. Coordinates contract renewals and implementations as needed.
  • Partners with business leaders throughout the company to identify improvement opportunities impacting the MA product or program. Leverages KPIs and other monitoring tools to assess efficiency and areas for improvement.
  • Oversees processes for coordinating Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) RFPs and quote requests. Assists Sales teams with the implementation of new EGWP groups.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. MBA preferred.
  • 3 years leading corporate initiatives and large project teams with various levels of corporate leadership.
  • 3 years' experience working with healthcare products/programs, preferably Medicare Advantage or government programs.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with and lead cross-functional teams toward a common goal

Professional Certification(s)

  • Project Management certifications preferred (PMP, CAPM, etc.)

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Possesses strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Skilled in project coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, make effective presentations, and utilize business judgment/analysis
  • Knowledge of Medicare products.
  • Knowledge of health insurance products/services and standard industry practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 

Sr MA Performance Analyst

  • Proven ability to effectively interact with and lead cross-functional teams toward a common goal

Professional Certification(s)

  • Project Management certifications preferred (PMP, CAPM, etc.)
