Description

Senior Project Manager will own and execute major Supply Chain transformation projects. The Sr. Project manager will lead and deliver major capital projects, including for example, facility build-outs, warehousing systems, pick lines, and other large scale expansion and efficiency initiatives. This position will work through complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

Lead multi-million dollar, highly complex, capital projects to successful completion.

Develop & implement project plans; tracks risks & budget, status, progress; report to management.

Manage cross-functional, matrixed teams of employees, contractors, and consultants.

Independently develop, assess and analyze the potential option sets for major decisions, resulting in a recommendation to the leadership team steering the given project.

Manage executive and stakeholder communications to provide clarity for decision-making and to build support for key investments.

You will deliver major capital projects, including for example, facility build-outs, warehousing systems, pick lines, and other large scale expansion and efficiency initiatives.

Serve as the business lead for medium and large-scale initiatives that support Supply Chain projects driving process, people and technology transformation.

Manage teams of employees, third-party vendors, and consultants to guide project execution (on-time, on-budget, on-scope).

Manage team and vendor's performance, contracts and/statements of work (SOWs) and ensure vendors perform against deliverables.

Work with project team to identify potential project risks and help develop preventative plans.

Independently develop, assess and analyze the potential option sets for major decisions, resulting in a recommendation to the leadership team steering the given project.

Support and represent the Global Manager for Distribution and the Supply Chain Transformation Office Leader in developing transformation plans.

Collaborate with the Supply Chain Transformation Office and the Strategic Program Management office to develop scalable and high quality strategies and processes.

Ensure communication channels are actively managed with key stakeholders across the entire company.

Develop a working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients.

 

 

Scope of Work

 

 

The position will have experience in running major projects or operations within supply chain.  This position must be able to thrive and succeed in a dynamic environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

 

Success criteria determined by 3 project elements: scope, schedule and budget.

 

Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. This role will need to consistently demonstrate the ability to balance strategic leadership competencies while leading tactical project elements.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or other quantitative discipline from an accredited university. MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, or similar field is an added plus
    ● Experience managing large scale projects. PMP, Six Sigma, or similar project management training and/or certification desired
    ● 7+ years' experience as a project/program manager in a warehouse transportation/distribution, or supply chain environments for a dynamic, growing company
    ● Experience with analyzing, operating, or installing pick lines, assembly lines, or similar automation systems preferred
    ● Experience managing build-out of warehousing, distribution or other supply chain facilities preferred
    ● Demonstrated ability to manage OEM, contractor, and vendor relationships, including managing to requirements, budgets, and establishing, tracking and ensuring accountability
    ● Ability to work in ambiguous environments and overcome challenges with a high degree of flexibility and professionalism
    ● Detail-oriented with strong prioritization skills
    ● Ability to work independently and excellent problem solving skills
    ● Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
    ● Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation
    ● Ability to use written and verbal communication to clearly and effectively drive updates and key decisions with functional groups, developers, business owners, and senior business leaders
    ● Depending on your location, position may require significant travel to construction sites, vendors, etc.
