General Summary of Position

MedStar Washington Hospital Center is currently seeking a Director of Volunteer Services and Patient Experience. This Director acts as a champion dedicated to creating a world-class culture of excellence in patient experience and building a programmatic approach to incorporating volunteer services into hospital operations. If this sounds like you, this position could be a great opportunity for you!

Primary Duties:

·         Develop and implement a large-scale volunteer program.

·         Operationalizes volunteer services program to positively impact hospital operations.

·         Responsible for recruiting, onboarding and organizing volunteers.

·         Creates impact analysis information periodically for volunteer services program for executive team.

·         Directs the activity, sets goals and oversees the work of the Patient Experience team.

·         Serves as coach to leaders and staff for improved results and executive of best practice and chosen strategies.

·         Demonstrates excellent data interpretation and analytical skills, for patient improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree required.

·         Master's degree in Communications, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or Business Administration preferred.

·         5-7 years in a related field such as patient relations, patient experience, human resources, nursing, social work, or case management, required.

·         3-4 years in a leadership capacity with similar scope and responsibility required.

·         Training in quality improvement, and/or project management, and/or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is desirable.

·         Proven ability in planning, development of services, project management, leadership, and conflict resolution

·         Proficient in Microsoft office applications
