General Summary of Position

we are offering a $10,000 Dollar Sign on Bonus for this position. 

MedStar Health is looking for an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team! We are looking for a registered Radiology Technologist with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will assist interventional radiologists in the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures. Provides patient care as needed and documents medical procedures. Assists in providing efficient and effective patient care.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs and/or assists in all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures as well as myelography, arthrography and venography. Prepares and positions patients and operates/monitors imaging devices during procedures. Utilizes immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment. 

  • Evaluates radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. Assures that studies are properly identified and filed in patient film jackets. 

  • Verifies the procedure(s) performed as indicated by the physician on the superbill. 

  • Utilizes physical assessment skills, monitoring devices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care and aseptic techniques in providing patient care. 

  • Completes required quality control and quality assurance records, and summarizes services rendered for statistical reports. Ensures that supply levels in the procedure rooms are adequate and notifies the individual responsible for ordering replenishment stock when appropriate. Takes call on a rotating basis, for afterhours/weekend coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or 1 or more years formal training in an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology.

  • 4 or more months of job-related experience in the performance of angiography and other complex radiological examinations. 

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination and be ARRT certified.
