General Summary of Position

We have an opportunity available for an experienced Community / Outpatient Pharmacist to join our MedStar Pharmacy team located on the campus of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.  Hours for this full-time position are 10:30 am - 7:15 pm Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturdays from 8 am - 4 pm. 

Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Education

• Licensed as a pharmacist in the District of Columbia (DC) required

Experience

• 1-2 years Pharmacy experience, preferably in retail required

Licenses and Certifications

• PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist Current DC Pharmacist license, including Immunization/Vaccination Certification and registration with the board of pharmacy in that district required
• CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $100,588 - $190,340
