General Summary of Position
Under Pharmacist supervision, the Central Support Specialist assists pharmacist(s) in all areas of pharmacy operations, focusing on prescription preparation and customer service through creating and maintaining patient's profiles, data entry and adjudication to third party payors in a central location. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required or
- equivalent. required
Experience
- 3-4 years Pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting or equivalent traning. required and
- 1-2 years Customer service experience or equivalent experience. preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Must have successfully completed the pharmacy technician certification through the nationally accredited certification examination of PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) required or
- the ExCPT (Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians). required and
- Pharmacy technician licensure required or
- registration as required by the state where the pharmacy/pharmacies are located (Maryland or DC). required

- Basic computer skills.

- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills.
This position has a hiring range of $19.17 - $33.08
