MedStar Georgetown is excited to offer a Critical Care Training Fellowship and Emergency Nursing Bridge Program that starts in October, 2025! This three-month fellowship includes the following elements:

  • Personalized orientation schedule
  • One-on-one preceptorship
  • Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (American Association of Critical Care Nurses)
  • American Heart Association certifications, as needed (ACLS)
  • Specialty Content classes

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Emergency Department is staffed and equipped to care for over 40,000 patients a year ranging from newborn to end of life. The metropolitan MGUH ED provides high quality care to a wide variety of patients, including adult and pediatric patients from the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, MedStar Georgetown is accredited by the Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and receives acute stroke patients from all around the DC region. All the nurses in the Emergency Department are certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and are NIH Stroke Certified and many also have their CEN, TNCC, and ENPC certifications. ED Nursing Leadership supports and encourages nurses to enhance their educational expertise and professional development. MedStar Georgetown's Emergency Department prides itself on its teamwork, collaborative governance and decision making which creates and implements new ideas centered on evidenced based practice.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN Preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of recent, hospital-based Nursing (RN) Experience required. 
  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.

This position has a hiring range of $41.77 - $63.66
