General Summary of Position
Controls quality and manages all aspects of the system level supply chain data including the supply item master. Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of the MedStar supply master file, the supply categories, units of measure, and other system level data. Validates and enhances Supply Chain data with the use of quality assurance reporting and information cleansing tools.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attends and participates in departmental meetings by sharing ideas for process improvements. Responsible for facilitating monthly team meetings.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Identifies and leads projects related to Supply Chain information systems quality improvements through collaboration with other departments.
  • Identifies data/Item Master/PeopleSoft issues and implement corrections based on analysis and feedback from requestors and other stakeholders.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Resolves supply master file related transaction errors.
  • Responsible for the development and proper adherence to Supply Chain IS processes as they apply to the PeopleSoft Item Master information.
  • Responsible for the quality of master data as it pertains to the PeopleSoft Item Master, including participation in data governance and data quality to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Supports requestors and other Supply Chain-related associates by providing information and training on Item Master-related issues.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management and 6 months experience in a healthcare environment; required and
    • Associate's degree required or
    • equivalent and 3 years experience in Supply Chain or related setting of multihospital system. required

    Experience

    • Less than 1 year 6 months experience in a healthcare environment with Bachelors degree required or
    • 3-4 years Experience in a healthcare environment with Associates degree or equivalent required and
    • Peoplesoft or other 1st tier erp system experience and database experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to utilize MS Excel, MS Access, and other office applications at an intermediate level.
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and via email.
    • Medical supply product knowledge a plus.
