General Summary of Position

The telecommunications team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center has a full-time, evening shift opening for a Telecommunications Operator. This position requires the availability to cover day, overnight, and/or weekend shifts when needed. The Telecommunications Operator is the first point of contact for callers and will provide general information and transfer calls as needed. 

Status: Full-time, 40 hours

Location: MedStar Montgomery Medical Center

Schedule: Evening shift, Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Education

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.

Experience

• 1-2 years Experience with multi-line or computerized answering service preferred.
• 1-2 years Computerized answering service as PBX operator preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers
• Ability to read write and speak English clearly
• Basic computer skills for data entry
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Bilingual in conversational Spanish is a plus but not required

This position has a hiring range of $17.50 - $28.73
