Memorial Satilla Health is a 231-bed, full service, acute care medical facility in Waycross, Georgia. Memorial Satilla is a part of the HCA - Hospital Corporation of America enterprise. Memorial Satilla has been providing high quality medical care to the greater Waycross community and southeast Georgia region for more than 60 years. Our success is the result of a team effort that is focused on caring for patients and their families. Our Senior Behavioral Center is designed to address the unique challenges of our aging community. Located on the third floor of the hospital, this 15-bed inpatient psychiatric unit is available for patients that need help with coping with life's transitions, depression, anxiety, psychosis, dementia or other behavioral changes related to aging. Our psychiatry program is rooted in a desire to make our patients feel safe and comfortable at our behavioral health center. We know this can only be accomplished when there is mutual trust between our psychiatric specialists and the patient. The safety and comfort of all of our patients is always at the forefront of everything we do. The Behavioral Health Technician is an integral part of a multidisciplinary care team. Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel operates within the scope of training and hospital guidelines performs a variety of technical and specialized skills that assist with addressing the treatment plan and needs of the patient. Responsibilities may include but not limited to data collection, identification of patient risk factors, general patient care, and documentation. Direct observation and monitoring of patients deemed to be at risk to self or others. Care is provided to all patients based on age specific development and cultural diversity. Assist in the orientation of new employees as well as students and other trainees.

Qualifications

Position Requirements: Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • BLS – Healthcare provider.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 90 days of hire then every calendar year
  • Prior experience in Behavioral Health setting
  • Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Tech/Behavioral Health Tech certification preferred
Education: Basic reading comprehension required Experience: Behavioral Health care experience. Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the patient/internal & external customer. Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.
