Overview:

 

Responsible for the overall direction, development, evaluation and management of the Medical Center's Environmental Services Department. Accountable for all metrics including Patient Satisfaction, Co-worker Satisfaction and Capital Management. Provides direction, coordination, and consultation regarding Environmental Services with Mercy Hospital management team and staff.

 

Develops and administers annual Environmental Services operating, labor, UOS and capital budgets. Serves as an active member of the Mercy Hospital Safety Council, Mercy Hospital Infection Control and Disaster Preparedness Committee.

 

Directs the material management process including contract utilization/compliance, purchasing, receiving, invoice processing as well as equipment management, product evaluation and network management.


Qualifications:

 

Education:

  • HS diploma and Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree, as outlined below. 

Experience:

  • 2 years of leadership experience for those meeting degree requirements. In lieu of degree, 7 years of leadership experience in an applicable setting.

Other:

  • Computer skills required. Ability to lead and manage in a diverse and demanding environment with focus on client/customer/nursing needs.
  • Strong communications skills both oral and written.
  • Service orientation. Essential leadership skills include the ability to facilitate multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, conceptual and organizational skills on all levels.
  • The ability to creatively manage and provide innovative solution, which deliver effective results is critical.
  • Must possess an extreme flexibility to render effective customer solution.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management or comparable field of study preferred. Master's preferred.
