What You'll Do
As a Medical Assistant in Primary Care, you'll be a vital part of the patient experience and care team. Your responsibilities include:
Preparing patients for provider visits using the Advanced Standard Rooming Process:
Documenting chief complaints
Taking vitals, reviewing history and allergies
Completing medication reconciliation
Addressing care gaps (e.g., screenings, diabetic eye exams)
Rechecking elevated blood pressures
Documenting preventive visit details in Epic
Performing in-office testing:
Blood draws, mental status exams, EKGs, oxygen studies, point-of-care testing
Administering vaccines and injections within scope
Scheduling follow-up appointments per office policy
Collaborating with providers and clinical teams to support care plans
Qualifications
Primary Care Assistant – MA
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certification: BLS required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Experience: 6+ months in clinical healthcare, ideally in primary care
Primary Care – Certified MA
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certification: Active MA certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
BLS: Required within 90 days of hire
LPN Option
Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing
Licensure: Active LPN license
Preferred Experience: 6+ months in clinical healthcare, preferably primary care
