Shift: 24 HRS Part-Time, Varies/Rotating, Nights & Weekends

Overview:
The member service desk representatives purpose is to greet our members with a positive attitude given any situation. They must be able to multi-task while keeping a cool composure. The member service desk representative must be physically capable of performing all job duties.
Job Description:
Greets and assists member and guests in a friendly manner while wearing approved staff uniform.
Clocks in and out with each shift; turns in time off requests in a timely manner.
Provides facility tours when needed; knows and enforces MFC policies and procedures, and maintains and upholds adequate towel rotation and access. The MSD representative must take turns gathering dirty towels and retrieving clean towels.
Assists all new member in the application process; Process and records memberships and applications in a timely and thorough manner.
Checks in every member or guest in a timely and efficient manner.
Uses proper etiquette in answering the phone and taking phone messages.
Makes sure that the Member Service Desk is kept clean, along with the front doors, and coffee area. Our MSD rep makes sure that the locker rooms are clean, and towels are picked up.
The MSD representative will make coffee when needed for our members and guests.
There will be no food or drink allowed behind the front desk. They are allowed a 30 min lunch. They will not make personal phone calls on the MFC phone or a cell phone while working the member service desk. They may make phone calls on breaks or during lunch.
The MSD representative will distribute incoming mail to the appropriate mail boxes on a daily basis.
The MSD representative will need to keep a current CPR certificate.
The MSD representative will be present for all mandatory meetings and workshops.
The MSD representative will be responsible for covering their shift. If you are unable to find a substitute, you must cover your shift.
The MSD representative who are repeatedly sick, and do not provide coverage for their scheduled shifts will receive disciplinary in protocol with Mercy Hospital.
The MSD representatives are to make closing announcements at 30-, 15-, and 5-minute intervals prior to closing. They must speak clearly and use the proper closing announcement. At 30 minutes till closing the announcement should be as follows, 'Attention members and guests. The Mercy Fitness Center will be closing in _______ minutes.' At 5 minutes till close, the announcement should be 'Attention members and guests, the Mercy Fitness Center will be closing in 5 minutes. We ask that you bring your locker keys and towels to the front desk. Thank you.'
The MSD representative is responsible for making sure all members and guests are gone at closing, and all doors are locked, before leaving.
All staff should park in the specified employee parking.
Tardiness will not be tolerated. If a co worker thinks they will be late, theymust notify the manager on duty immediately.
All MSD representatives must put in for PTO two weeks prior to taking time off.
All MSD representatives are required to give a two week notice before terminating their employment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma
- Preferred Experience: 6 months to 1 year in customer service.
- Preferred Certifications:
- CPR certification/AED
- Other: Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic computer skills, good phone etiquette, must be able to multi-task.
