Overview:
The Nutrition Assistant represents Food and Nutrition Services by delivering patient meals. They follow all guidelines with a high expectation for accuracy during delivery, set up, and monitoring of meal service. The Nutrition Assistant excels at customer service and personal interaction with patients, their families, and hospital staff.
Uses Mercy Signature Service to provide excellent customer service when delivering trays and interacting with staff.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of therapeutic diets.
Follows outlined procedures for prompt and accurate delivery of trays.
Accurately records and monitors data for tray delivery both written and electronically.
Works collaboratively with team to ensure timely meal delivery in all areas.
Follows procedures when using basic food service equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge and standards of quality food presentation and portion control.
Ability to handle cash transactions and give change.
Observes universal precautions consistently.
Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate. Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance. Meets Health System attendance standards.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: None required
Skills, knowledge and abilities: Ability to read and write well. Nutrition in a Nutshell within 90 days. Positive attitude, friendly smile, good personal appearance. Willingness to learn and work as part of a team. Working conditions, mental and physical requirements:
Equipment used: Computer and/or tablet, basic food service equipment
Preferred Education: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred
