Mercy Hospital Southeast, a 245-bed regional referral center serving a population of over 675,000 across five states, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead clinical strategy, quality improvement, and physician engagement. This executive role is pivotal in advancing Mercy's mission of delivering exceptional care.
Position Overview:
The CMO will serve as the senior physician executive, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical care, promoting patient safety, an enhancing clinical performance. This role partner closely with operation leadership and medical staff to foster a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and coordination of contracted medical directors in collaboration with operation leaders
Lead and participate in quality, risk management, and patient safety initiatives
Champion efforts to position Mercy Hospital Southeast as the provider of choice in the region
Drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes and patient experience
Promote a culture of respect, collaboration, and professional development among clinical teams
Integrate quality improvement, risk mitigation, and safety programs across departments
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification in a recognized specialty
Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience
Demonstrated leadership experience as a medical director or in a physician executive role
Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical governance, and medical management.
