Overview:

 

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of a Respiratory Program.
Licensure: Missouri License.
Experience: Attended clinical hours during school to graduate.

Certifications: Certified eligible Respiratory Therapist, certified within 6 months of hire. BLS Healthcare Provider within three months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support within six months of hire. Pediatric Life Support within six months of hire. NRP within one year of hire.
Other: Knowledge of and student clinical time with patient assessments, various therapies, arterial blood gas draws, initiate and maintain invasive and non-invasive ventilation, code blue experience, intubations. Labor and Delivery experience, Pediatric experience, PFTs, Holters, ECGs, and Cardiac Stress tests. Interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
Preferred Education: Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Program.
Preferred Licensure: Missouri License.
Preferred Experience: Minimum of one year.
Preferred Certifications: Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner, AHA HCP Basic Life Support, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support, AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and NRP
Preferred Other: Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills are required to evaluate patient reactions to all forms of respiratory therapy, recommend corresponding treatment plans and interact with patients, physicians, and nursing staff. Able to perform arterial blood gas draws and intubations. Labor and Delivery experience, Pediatric experience, Advanced Life Support experience, PFTs, Holters, ECGs, and Cardiac Stress tests.
