Position Overview Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program

  • Licensure: Current RN license in Missouri or compact state; must meet all state board requirements

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire)
    • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit needs, including:
      • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, CPHON, OCN, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
    • Prolonged standing and walking
    • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat, and reach as needed
  • PRN Requirements:
    • Must work a minimum of 36 hours per six-week scheduling period
    • Required to work one 12-hour weekend shift per schedule (Friday 3 p.m. to Monday 7 a.m.)
    • Must work one summer and one winter holiday shift annually
