Overview: Staff Auditor

 

HYBRID ROLE: Mostly Remote with ability to be onsite as needed (up to at least once a week). Can be located near Springfield, or St. Louis (Driving distance).

 

Internal Audit is responsible for assessing risk areas and for developing a plan to gain a more in-depth understanding of significant risks to the organization, while evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control environment. This function performs risk assessments, reviews, and internal audits throughout Mercy.

 

The Staff Auditor participates in the all aspects of an audit, including planning, risk assessment, identifying controls, creating audit procedures, testing processes and controls, preparing workpapers, and developing conclusions. Make value added recommendations to improve operations, enhance internal controls, and improve the overall performance of the organization.

 

Travels to other Mercy communities approximately 5% of time. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and service standards; and acts as an effective team member to assist in the achievement of the department's goals and objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: One to three years auditing, accounting, or business analysis experience.
  • Required Education: Bachelors in accounting or related field.
  • Other: 
  • • Knowledge of audit standards and practices with strong analytical capabilities.
    • Ability to establish credibility and interact with all levels of management. 
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to identify internal controls and understand significant business risks to the organization.
    • Possesses project management skills related to time and task management.
    • Must be proficient with computer software, primarily MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Preferred Experience: Healthcare industry auditing, accounting, or business analysis.
