Overview:

Responsible for the administration of diagnostic testing as ordered by the physicians. Measures and records all findings for the physicians to interpret. Assists in department operational support tasks or duties. Supports the continuous improvement of quality and service to ensure Mercys goal of excellence in clinical outcomes and satisfaction for those whom we serve. Demonstrates fairness, integrity, and compassion in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff and respects the confidential information to which he/she may have access. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduated from a school of sonography OR received on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound.
• Certification/Registration:  Must hold multiple registries with an emphasis on vascular-  ARDMS/RVT or ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RVS. IV certification is required. BLS 
• Experience:  More than five (5) years experience as a cardiovascular sonographer. Credit may be given if experience was received with on the job training by a Preceptor who is registered in Cardiac ultrasound.       
• Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-- Performs all routine exams--Must perform stress tests/TEE (where applicable in primary dept)-- IV certified-- Perform one or more of the following special procedures:  EVLT, RF ablations, TCD  OR May be a Merge cardio super user and/or super user for other technology/equipment
