Overview:  The VP-Revenue Integrity & Reimbursement for Mercy Health is responsible for all aspects of revenue cycle performance. The positions scope of authority includes all hospital, clinic and CDM and government reimbursement activities. In addition, the position is responsible for the strategic direction setting, leadership and oversight of the related functions. Working in collaboration with respective community financial and ministry revenue cycle leaders, the position will: look for ways to retain & optimize revenues and related reimbursement via revenue process and pricing excellence while identifying barriers or process & technology deficiencies contributing to revenue loss. Position will work cooperatively and represent Mercy in state and federal forums in concert with Government Relations teams to best represent Mercy's interests and that of its patients. Position will measure and analyze revenue trends and changes, implement a systematic process of continuous improvements that are repeatable, predictable and automated whenever possible, and ensure the necessary infrastructure exists to support optimal efficiency and performance while maintaining the highest standard of integrity. The Executive will perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mercy mission, vision, values and services standards.

 

 


Qualifications:

  • More than ten years' experience in a significant financial leadership position in healthcare revenue space.
  • Experience developing of operating plans, strategies, and performance-monitoring techniques leading to attainment or overachievement of expectations. 

  • Experience leading and developing teams for impact. 

  • Able to successfully execute in a matrix management environment. 

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare economics, both revenue and cost, with an ability to educate stakeholders. 

  • Strong experience and an established track record for crafting, presenting and implementing successful operational and business plans related to revenue, revenue cycle & reimbursement.

  • Experience with strategic alliances/partnerships around the healthcare industry

  • Strong diplomatic skills and experience communicating with operational leaders, physicians, state and federal officials and healthcare industry organizations.

  • Experience with presenting at State or Federal level preferred.

  • Demonstrated success with government reimbursement, automation, process improvement and ability to drive denial improvement.

  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end revenue cycle & government reimbursement methodologies.

Required Education: Undergraduate degree from an accredited four- year college or university is required in Finance or related field.

  • Available to travel between various locations of ministry to observe & improve process
  • Preferred Education: Masters
  • Certifications: CPA or equivalent preferred
