Training & Development Manager

Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Hybrid Onsite/Remote, Moses Lake, WA

We are looking for a senior level Training & Development Manager for our corporate office in Moses Lake, Washington to design and lead a best in-class learning & development experience for our employees and leaders across MLI.  You will be working for a midsized company with great people, great culture and a history of steady growth and profitability.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Manage the overall development, and implementation of MLI's corporate Training policies and programs to support organizational strategy, while collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and administration of a new corporate Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Partner with all sites and departments within MLI to identify professional development needs for all team members.
  • Mentor and coach Training department staff and department leadership teams across the organization by providing information and guidance on how to implement and follow effective Training programs and policies.
  • Ability to manage team resources and outside vendors/consultants as needed to design, develop, deliver and maintain effective training programs.
  • Regular monitoring of industry Training & Development trends and best practices, make recommendations to senior leadership to ensure MLI's programs are current, compliant, and effective to support career growth and employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Collect, gather, and analyze gaps in team member knowledge, skills and behavior, and lead creation of effective training material through an understanding of adult learning methods and instructional design to bridge those gaps.
  • Develop effective communication strategies and materials for Training processes.
  • Oversee and/or act as MLI's training representative (SME) during internal and external audits.
  • Manage Training department expenditures and project budgets/costs.
  • Collect, gather, and analyze training data and metrics and present concise actionable results to leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, education, communication, learning, organizational development, or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education (AA/AS) plus direct management and program/LMS implementation experience will be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 7 plus years of progressive leadership/manager experience with effective development, implementation, and management of Training programs.
  • Direct experience with executive leadership programs and leadership development.
  • Demonstrated experience with training programs and implementation/administration of Learning Management Software (LMS) systems and other instructional design technologies (Articulate).
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training processes including mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.
  • Train the Trainer leadership certificates highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with job-based competency assessments and training development plans.
  • Effective presentation skills and training facilitation.
  • Experience with Technical Training content development and computer-based training module creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple activities, being a self- starter, with the initiative and perseverance to deliver results.
  • Advanced administrative skills and proficiency with computer systems across multiple software platforms (SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Teams)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support a global organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPLP – Certified Professional in Learning and Performance or similar certification preferred.
  • Training association membership.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $100,000 to $135,000

WORKING CONDITIONS

The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is occasionally loud.
