DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race” – the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention – as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing."  Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Daytona International Speedway is seeking a Manager, Event Marketing who will assist in all facets of marketing events. Based in Daytona Beach, this key role on our team is responsible for a variety of functions in support of the famous 2.5-mile venue, plus assisting the other NASCAR Southeast Region tracks (Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway). The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn, desire to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to work long hours. Some travel may be required.

This position will be responsible for the following: 

  • Manage and maintain the Southeast Region websites which include but not limited to copy, imagery and ticket links
  • Work cross-functionally to identify priorities for fan communication across all channels.
  • Manage pre-event communication along with timelines, assets, deliverables, and ensure coordination / synchronization
  • Work closely with central and regional departmental functions on the photography shot list for each event.
  • SE Region Track point of contact during events for all photography shot list needs
  • Assist in the ideation, development, management, and execution of content programs and campaigns designed to assist the company and SE Region meet and exceed business goals and objectives
  • Assist with the execution of content by leveraging relevant tools (e.g. Adobe's creative suite) and working with the regional social content lead on the content and campaign calendar
  • Assist with the execution of all photography and social content at local events in the SE Region (grassroots, cross-promotional events, and onsite track needs)
  • Assist the central email marketing team with the campaign strategy and creative deliverables and execution as needed.
  • Manage all radio and TV promotions for Daytona International Speedway
  • Lead for all deliverables for the event promotional packets
  • Manage radio remote programming for Daytona International Speedway
  • Support local/grassroots marketing plans by representing DIS at in-market events to drive awareness, data collection and ticket sales
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel: 15-20% including weekends

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four (4) year college or university and or a minimum of three (3) years of current experience in social media and content development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, After Effect and Premiere
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of creative and innovative thinking, especially in the social space
  • Passion for photography, digital and social media
  • Experience working with video and design tools and software
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn and understand NASCAR brand requirements and protocols, as well as sales systems, databases, and partnership management/activation
  • Previous events or sports experience and basic knowledge of motorsports and NASCAR a plus
  • A team player who is committed to the success of the events
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in multiple computer programs (Adobe, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude
  • Valid driver's license
