Job Description:

The EHS Coordinator/Specialist will support Nextracker's drive to conduct its business while meeting  the highest standards of health and safety and minimizing our environmental impact. They will assist  the EHS Manager with development, implementation and improvement of policies, programs and 

initiatives to ensure the health, safety and well-being to our remote workers on our customer sites  all over the United States. They will be reviewing our employee's site safety, provide technical  support, and advise on safety matters.   

Responsibilities 

  • Traveling to various sites across the country to meet with fellow Nextracker employees performing work for our customers 

  • Review customer contracts to confirm conformance to contractual agreements and ensure our employees meet or exceed that standard.  

  • Brings USA-specific safety (construction) knowledge in addition to Nextracker safety standards into the EHS team and helps ensure we meet all USA safety regulations 

  • Help identify opportunities of improvement for safety at remotes sites 

  • Support the completion, revision, and audit of hazard assessment documents including site safety inspections, JHAs, and site safety specific plans.  

  • Expert in our EHS Management System and online software platform – must become local expert, superuser, and trainer 

  • Extensive EHS training – required to manage and conduct USA EHS in-house training for workers 

  • Reporting – a confident and proficient MS Office user, you will prepare analysis and reports on safety statistics, metrics and achievements to a high standard.  

  • Other responsibilities as defined by the USA EHS Manager   

  • Lead by example – demonstrate a high level of safety awareness in all that you do. 

Experience, Qualities and Qualifications 
 

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial EH&S experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction or an area with electricity exposure 

  • Deep understanding of OSHA standards and safety regulations, most notably construction-specific policies 

  • Ability to travel independently to sites across USA, hold and maintain unrestricted driver's license 

  • Have or be willing to acquire First Aid qualifications, NFPA70 e, and OSHA 30 

  • Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Passion for solar or renewable energy 

  • Strong knowledge of PV technology and its applications   

  • Strong knowledge of LV/HV electrical safety   

  • Hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems a plus   

  • Experience in effecting and coordinate cultural change 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Strong passion for environment, health, and safety  

  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal EH&S regulations and guidance  Passion for building a physical and mental safe culture with the challenge of being remote. 

  • Skilled communicator and influencer across all levels of an organization. Brining a collaborative approach, you will need to persuade and convince others to incorporate safety in all that they do.  

  • Excellent written and spoken ability in English 

  • Culturally aware and flexible – can deal with teams and people of all cultural 

  • backgrounds and drive cultural change in a sensitive manner.   Tenacity and willingness to keep working to reach our goals 

  • Strong computer literacy including MS Office suite, good Excel skills, experience with EHS MS platforms and willingness / ability to learn ours to expert level 

  • Work well in a small team of EHS staff, but also very capable of self-motivation and direction.   

Salary Range - $70,000-$100,000
