Sales Manager, Europe

For the Sales Manager, Europe we are seeking a highly talented Sales / Business Development professional to drive our growth of industry leading Nextracker sales in the Europe region outside of Spain and Portugal where we already have a full sales team. Target markets in Europe include Italy, Greece, Eastern Europe, France, UK, Germany and Scandinavia.

The Sales Manager will report to the SVP Europe, and lead sales efforts, win business, negotiate and close contracts with large scale solar PV plant developers, owners and EPCs in the target markets. The candidate will be based at Nextracker's European headquarters in Madrid and will travel frequently to the target markets to advance sales and build relationships with solar PV developers, owners and EPCs.  Many of our European customer decision makers have their headquarters in Europe but their solar projects are in both Europe and other global regions like Africa, Australia, Latin America, Middle East and USA. Our target is to maintain our #1 global tracker market share and increase our Europe market share.  We have the best solar tracker product and we are seeking a proven sales leader to join our industry leading team in Europe.

He/she will utilize Saleforce.com and Netsuite CRM systems to track and forecast sales activity and request tasks from NX resources.  He/she will work closely with the Sales support, Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to ensure that NX is consistently exceeding customer expectations while ensuring that all NX sales maintain maximum positive gross margin.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development sales efforts with PV plant owners, developers, and EPCs in the region after training at NX offices in Madrid and Sevilla, Spain, and HQ in Fremont, CA, USA.
  • Frequent international travel to meet with customers and attend trade shows
  • Track sales activities, forecast, and tasks for NX technical resources using Salesforce and Netsuite CRM systems and BOX file sharing system.
  • Prepare PPT presentations, and present to a wide variety of stake holders
  • Represent Nextracker at solar trade shows in the target markets in Europe
  • Review PV tracker array layouts using autocad Truview software
  • Work closely with the Global Sales/Business Development Team based in Europe, India, Latam, USA and Australia on creative deal structuring and bid strategy to win projects with multi-national decision makers
  • Learn and use PVSyst energy production modeling software for tracking systems
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Product Management Teams to provide input on product requirements specific to the regional markets
  • Work with Operations and Project Management team to ensure efficient communications and provide excellent customer satisfaction
  • Form excellent working relationships with other NX departments, including Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure on-time delivery and best in class quality of all NX products.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven hunter and closer of complex transactions
  • BS/BA degree in a business or technical field
  • 5+ years of complex solar sales experience
  • Large scale Solar PV power plant sales experience a must
  • Excellent business relationships with key players in the region
  • Regional market knowledge and familiarity with European cultures
  • Existing professional contacts in the region who are decision makers with IPP's, Developers, EPC's
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing CRM tools like Salesforce.com, Netsuite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Other languages are a plus including Italian, German, French and other European languages
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Passion for solar energy
