Job Description:

The Nextracker Senior Director, Utility Business Development will be based in Fremont, CA (or remote if approved in advance). This position is responsible for supporting the growth of Nextracker's US/Canada Utility focused business. In this highly cross-functional role, you will collaborate with teams across Nextracker including C-Suite Executive Management, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Finance, and Product Management.  This position reports to the head of US/Canada Sales and is critical to the effective growth of the Utility focused sales program.  

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) how you will measure success:

  • Delivering a plan to penetrate the highest value utility accounts
  • Driving new and existing utility engagements and key decision-making relationships
  • Achieving / Exceeding sales targets
  • Formulate and execute utility-focused Volume Commitment Agreements (VCA) in collaboration with a support team and resources

Forecast accuracy and data cleanliness in the company's CRM system

  • Developing Utilty focused engagement models that establish Nextracker as the basis of design
  • Assisting with utility market forecasting by compiling long-term pipeline views (1-2 years) through Utility relationships and market research (WoodMac, etc)

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Leadership role helping to lead the growth and execution of NXT's Utility-focused strategy
  • Developing bid strategy and maintaining pre-NTP summary reports of active and funnel opportunities for management team
  • Attend Utility focused conferences and formulate Nextracker messaging (E.g.,: EEI)
  • Establish utility partnerships and build out customer decision matrix
  • Develop Utility account strategies, opportunity structure, and manage funnel through CRM system
  • Identify and deploy additional customer engagement models targeting both domestic and international growth markets

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

  • Energy industry experience working in or selling to Utilities
  • 10+ Years of B2B Sales Support experience
  • BS/BA in a business or technical field (MBA desired)
  • General understanding of PV technology and energy performance as it relates to Utility scale solar projects
  • Solar experience and passion for solar always a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing CRM (Salesforce preferred) and ERP (Netsuite preferred) systems
  • Proven analytical background
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel to meet customers 35% of the time

Salary Range - $150,000-$225,000
