Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle

 

NFM's Benefits Engagement Specialist will help plan and execute a variety of events and activities aimed at enhancing employee benefits and wellness engagement. This role involves coordinating staff benefits training, wellness programs, and onsite events to ensure staff are informed, motivated, and supported. The role will serve as a resource for staff regarding benefits questions and assist in administering benefit plans This position can work a hybrid or remote schedule in NE, IA, MO, KS or TX. 

 

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

 

  • Partner: Work with Life Insurance Company on claims as needed
  • Support: Assist staff members in resolving benefits problems and answer questions, to include STD/LTD and FMLA questions
  • Oversee: Reconcile benefits to payroll, including arrears and bi-weekly benefit premiums
  • Manage: Send out required annual notices to keep NFM's benefit plans compliant in accordance with ERISA
  • Take Part: Participate in employee meetings and coordinate printing of Open Enrollment materials
  • Build: Create content for employee & manager Benefit trainings
  • Administer: Process staff member benefit enrollments and life events
  • Train: Conduct benefits training for staff and manager
  • Help:  Assist with NFM's Wellness Program “Be Well” Activities
  • Organize: Create onsite events for employees, such as flu shots and mobile mammograms

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource administration or related field preferred
  • 2 years of benefits specialist or administration experience required
  • Experience in event planning or coordination preferred
  • Computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) 
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately
  • Valid driver's license and ongoing acceptable driving record
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Pre-employment screening includes, but isn't limited to criminal background check
