Pay Range: $30.93 - 38.35 Hourly

Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle

 

As NFM's Master Service Technician, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment, and working on critical and complex needs of the department. Ensure equipment machinery and mechanical is 100% operational and safe. Tools will be provided to complete maintenance and repairs. Act as knowledgeable resource for the Service Technicians on all the equipment used in NFM facilities.

 

Job Duties: A Day in the Life

  • Analyze: Inspect condition of all conveyors, and correct any potential problems 
  • Inspect: Routinely examine condition of all compactors, recycling equipment and resolve any potential problems that could cause downtime - maintain, diagnose, repair, and replace as needed
  • Review: Responsible for the overall condition of all the above equipment. Perform and log regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing on all material handling equipment
  • Provide back-up: for the manager. Handle more complex service problems. Assign job orders and other tasks, ensuring the workload is evenly distributed
  • Collaborate: Utilize the computer-based asset management system to accurately record all work performed

 

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience with repair of Material Handling Equipment required
  • Forklift Mechanic Experience
  • Lead, supervisory, or management experience preferred
  • Experience with “Crown” manufactured equipment preferred
  • Must have good working knowledge of electrical circuits, be able to work with wire diagrams, and be able to read and understand schematics
  • Ability to weld (wire or stick) and use a torch (oxygen or acetylene) to cut and braze preferred. Knowledge of shop equipment, e.g. drill, tire press, hand tools, power tools, etc.
  • Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
  • Valid driver's license and ongoing acceptable driving record
  • Basic computer skills
  • Pre-employment screening includes, but isn't limited to criminal background check
