Medical Services is a relationship – focused team and is seeking a highly motivated and driven Training Specialist (depending on Experience this role has the potential to start at the Senior Level) .  This individual will be able to exercise their creativity for designing and delivering training, complete with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides. The Trainer will also be responsible for delivering training to support regulatory compliance throughout the department by educating employees on pertinent state specific regulations applicable to the work product. This position requires the Trainer to work closely and communicate regularly with management teams for the respective areas, as well as other team members and departments within NJM, as needed.

This position is based in our West Trenton, NJ location n with the option to work remotely 2 days per week upon completion of onboarding and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in leading or assisting with all departmental training initiatives, including the training of new hires, technical or process training for new initiatives or refresher training for all current employees in MSA.
  • Independently provide classroom instruction relating to regulatory compliance and state regulations for Medical Services personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training solutions.
  • Support process improvement initiatives in coordination with department-wide objectives.
  • Assist the department by developing eLearning content. Design and formulate instructional materials, job aids, other materials supporting technology/process initiatives/changes.
  • Responsible for creating and updating existing training materials.
  • Assist with document governance by maintaining and managing all training materials in the document repository.
  • Enhance retention, growth, and development of employees by assisting with department training needs assessments and translating findings into coursework.
  • Deliver learning content that maximizes the performance of staff members and aligns with company objectives and goals.  Create a positive learning environment, convey objectives clearly, encourage, engage, and motivate trainees.
  • Act as a liaison with Talent Development for ensuring industry and company best practices for training.  Work with MSA Training Supervisor to determine the best delivery methods based on coursework and audience.  Oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, job aids and manuals.  Schedule training sessions to minimize disruption to normal working schedules while ensuring that staff members achieve the levels of skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs.


Job Requirements:

  • Must Have experience in the P&C Insurance industry, claims experience is preferred
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; A bachelor's degree and Insurance designations are preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills; ability to deliver impactful learning experiences
  • Professional demeanor; ability to communicate and interact with all levels of staff/management
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions; detail-oriented and proactive
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to execute on multiple training initiatives
  • Some travel required
  • Training experience is preferred
