Description

NORTON CHILDRENS MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE is seeking a fellowship-trained and board certified or board-eligible OB/GYN physician to join its growing practice in Louisville, Kentucky. This provider will join a comprehensive, collaborative team of seven maternal-fetal medicine physicians, two OB/GYN physicians, nine advanced practice registered nurses, two advanced practice registered nurses certified as diabetes educators, a clinical nutritionist, two nurse navigators, two social workers, two genetic counselors and 27 sonographers, five of whom are certified in fetal echocardiography. The high risk OB/GYN will be an integral part of the maternal fetal medicine team providing high risk delivery service to patients.

Our physicians provide services at Norton Hospital, which is connected by pedway to Norton Childrens Hospital, a Level I pediatric trauma center with a 101-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU); and at Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital, which offers a full range of pregnancy and newborn care and has a 44-bed Level III NICU. Both hospitals offer 24-hour obstetrics hospitalist services.

Integral part of the MFM team providing high risk delivery service to patients.

About the position:

  • Works closely with Norton Childrens Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in a team approach
  • The primary focus of the generalist work is inpatient, covering the high risk program in the hospital setting
  • The OB MFM generalist will complete call 1 in 4 weekends
  • The OB MFM generalist will provide delivery coverage for all current MFM patients and transfers into the organization from outside facilities
  • The OB MFM generalist will work primarily at the downtown campus and will have opportunities to work at Norton Womens & Childrens Hospital

Requirements:

  • Medical degree/diploma
  • Residency/fellowship certification
  • Kentucky medical license or license eligible
