Join a talented team of legal and compliance professionals focused on delivering high-quality, actionable, and thoughtful legal, compliance and audit services across NRECA's broad product and service offerings. We are searching for a new team member who is adaptable, learning-oriented, and skilled in audit and risk management to lead high-impact assurance and consulting engagements within NRECA and its Benefit Plans, including the Retirement Security Plan, the 401(k) Plan, and the Group Benefits Program. Our Internal Audit vision is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. We are searching for a new team member who is adaptable, learning-oriented, and skilled in audit and risk management to lead high-impact assurance and consulting engagements within NRECA and its Benefit Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently conducts assurance and consulting engagements related to financial, operational and compliance risks for various business areas within NRECA and the Plans.
  • Designs and executes comprehensive audit programs. Plans and scopes engagements, develops audit procedures, conducts walkthroughs and interviews, performs control design assessments, performs testing in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Priorities and IIA standards.
  • Identifies audit findings, provides recommendations that strengthen controls and improves processes, and collaborates with stakeholders on remediation plans.
  • Communicates audit results with stakeholders and Internal management.
  • Monitors and follows up on audit recommendations/management's action items to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (MBA desired)
  • 5+ years of experience in auditing, internal control assessments, or related areas
  • CPA, CIA, CFE, or CISA certifications desired
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Subject matter expertise in employee benefit plans

Essential Physical Requirements

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
