Associate Medical Director & Vice President of Medical Affairs (AMD/VPMA)

Under the direction of the Regional Medical Director (RMD), the Associate Medical Director (AMD) and Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) serves in a local strategic leadership role as well as quality and safety leadership role. The AMD/VPMA will collaborate with senior leadership including the Regional Medical Director (RMD), local Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) along with the local Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers and others across our healthcare system to deliver quality care in a patient focused environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Demonstrated ability to understand the complex responsibilities and challenges of hospital Medical Staffs, including Joint Commission expectations and reviews.

· Lead efforts locally for the use of clinical data to proactively monitor, revise, and develop best practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes.

· Promote the standardization of clinical processes and interoperability, adoption of effective solutions and advance innovative patient care.

· Works with hospital leadership to foster a culture of safety and teamwork.

· Partner with local C-Suite and RMD to develop strategic initiatives supporting clinical and business objectives.

· Demonstrates thorough understanding of hospital governance and structure.

· Actively supports the RMD in presenting information to local hospital boards.

· Demonstrates a clear understanding of national and regional trends and how these are likely to effect provider supply, patient expectations, and reimbursement.

· Demonstrates an ability to make a case convincingly and effectively for behavior change with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers and other members of the care team.

· Actively involved in advancing standards of professionalism, including work in state, regional and national organizations.

Required Education and Experience:

· 5 years clinical experience

· Board certified or eligible for certification in physician's primary specialty

· Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO/DPM

· Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice

Preferred:

Evidence of prior administrative or leadership experience

Experience using and supporting Epic's Electronic Medical Record System
