ODLE Management - A Subsidiary of Eckerd Connects

Reports to the Center Director and is a salaried, exempt position. Responsible for serving as the Business Engagement liaison to engage with business, civic and educational organizations, elected officials, law enforcement agencies and other service providers, including organizations and entities that serve targeted populations. Responsible for planning and directing generating positive goodwill of the campus in and around the community. Also, functions as an advisor to the Student Government and oversees and delivers the Student Leadership curriculum to students. Oversees the Mentoring Program to include acting as a liaison between mentors and mentees as well as matching mentors to students. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communications; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills and independent living.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates and abides by Odle Core Values and operating principles.
  • Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills including personal responsibility and computer fluency.
  • Serves as liaison between the campus and local and regional employers (non-governmental and private sector), military, labor organizations, workforce/one-stop partners, local Chamber of Commerce and economic development organizations and others.
  • Works collaboratively with Outreach and Admissions staff to promote student enrollment, including plan, coordinate, and host outreach events in and around the community.
  • Oversees the establishment, development, and growth of both the campuses Industry Councils and Community Relations Council
  • Organizes and leads bi-annual (twice a year) Industry Council and quarterly (4 times a year) Community Relations Councils.
  • Ensures that the campus has a positive public image in the community and the state.
  • Maintains an excellent relationship with state and local elected officials to ensure a positive public image for the campus and the Job Corps Program as a whole.
  • Coordinates public outreach efforts with the National Job Corps Association, as required.
  • Responsible for the student government program to include establishment and enforcement of the constitution; criteria of eligibility for executive branch members and dormitory representatives with conditions for dismissal and replacement; organization and conduct of student government elections; weekly student government meeting, following parliamentary procedures, and organization of student government committees. Executes training plans with student government Executive Board members.
  • Arranges and participates in regularly scheduled student government executive branch meetings with the Center Director and Social Development Director.         
  • Acts as liaison between student government and staff. Maintains proper documentation for student government and provides student government information to the general student population.
  • Oversees the student welfare fund.
  • Responsible for the Student Leadership Program to include establishment and implementation of program guidelines and procedures and maintenance of a current Student Leader list. Conducts student leader training.
  • Develops and presents a student government briefing for all C-Prep students.
  • Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership with student population.
  • Ensures that all minor students are assigned a mentor.
  • Gives overview of mentor program during the CPP Phase.
  • Prioritizes minor students for mentor assignments as well as counselor-referred priority students.
  • Plans and promotes monthly mentor events, including distributing all activity packets and fliers for program events.
  • Prepares and submits monthly activity reports.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Cultivates and maintains a climate on center that is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Attends required staff training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or four years' professional experience working with youth preferred. Two years' experience in marketing and sales related areas preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.

Additional Requirements: Good understanding of the local community and employer base. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent organizational skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with and relate to trainee base. Position requires an ability to operate office equipment. In addition, an individual must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.
