Position Summary

 

The Distributions Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the distributions team, supporting the vision and values of the corporation. Directly manages all inbound and outbound shipments. Holds self and staff accountable for implementing and adherence to standards, policies & regulations for the safe, environmentally compliant production of a quality precast concrete product. Leads and directs local site employee/staff training and development initiatives to ensure robust succession planning. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manages all warehouse and office activities in support of sales operations including but not limited to receiving, storing and shipping materials. 

  • Hires, trains, supervise, motivate and develop warehouse staff, manage schedules and workflow. 

  • Monitors performance of the team by completing quarterly performance check-ins and annual reviews 

  • Reviews, modifies and implements all department processes, policies and procedures. 

  • Responds via phone, fax, mail and /or e-mail in a timely and courteous manner. 

  • Enforces established safety guidelines, promotes a safe workplace. 

  • Receives and inspects all incoming inventory. 

  • Ensures incoming shipments are received and unpacked, damaged items rejected, shortages recorded, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages Stores, tags and accounts for all inventory 

  • Pulls, palletizes and prepares outgoing finished material for shipping as well as processes documentation associated with shipping and receiving functions. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications 

  • Ensures accurate and timely shipments and receipts 

  • Assigns tasks and ensures necessary items are prioritized and completed 

  • Uses time keeping system to assign schedules, monitor attendance, and approve timecards in accordance with payroll schedule 

  • Managers department budget 

  • Organizes and maintains accurate records and metrics; audits as necessary 

  • Performs quarterly  and/or annual physical inventories; provides inventory reports 

  • Operates forklift truck to load and unload trucks 

  • Maintains cleanliness and neatness of yard 

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma / equivalent desired 

  • Strong inventory skills 

  • Proficient on MS Office (Word, Excel) 

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Strong organizational skills 

  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow 

  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions 

  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary 

  • Bilingual a plus 

 

Education/Certifications

 

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in education/experience 

  • 5 or more years in a production management capacity 

  • Experience with metal fabrication processes  

 

Competencies/Skills

 

  • Metal processing tools and techniques  

  • Fitting/Welding principals  

  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings  

 

Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands

 

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Compensation

 

  • Salary - $100,000 to $125,000/year plus bonus
