Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Innovation Manager to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive innovation portfolio in water markets. This role will focus on driving both incremental and disruptive innovation initiatives across the organization, leveraging internal and external partnerships to stay ahead of market needs and trends.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Develop and manage a complex portfolio of water-related innovation projects targeting short-term improvements and long-term disruptive solutions.
- Build relationships with internal teams, external partners, universities, and nonprofit organizations to cultivate a strong innovation ecosystem.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with startups and established businesses to co-create solutions and enter new markets.
- Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, business, and customer needs.
- Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address customer goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices.
- Work closely with the Market Intelligence Team to gather 'voice of the customer' insights that inform decision-making.
- Produce and present funding requests for future projects, project updates, and business outreach to various audiences.
- Create and implement a robust roadmap for water innovation, aligning with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Oversee the execution of a diverse range of projects including research agreements, pilot projects, and internal R&D initiatives to meet business goals.
Experience/Knowledge Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Graduate degree preferred, with a specialization in relevant fields (i.e., product management, new product development, water resources engineering, research and development, or other related discipline).
- Experience leading the development of and successful launch of new products and/or services.
- Strong relationship management skills including experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results across customer and internally facing teams, projects, products, or services.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and results driven.
- Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
Work Requirements (Travel %, Safety Equipment, etc.)
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean Driving Record.
- Ability to travel 50%-75%.
- Check and maintain PPE, vehicle standards and other equipment.
- Comply with all Company policies and PPE requirements at all times.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects to Company standards.
- Must be able to lift/carry 20 lbs.
