What you'll do:

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team who works collaboratively with engineering, quality, product managers, and usability experts to make our products user-friendly. Additional details about what you will be doing includes:

 

  • Independently gather information from appropriate personnel to develop, organize, and generate technical work instructions for manufacturing, assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment, such as motion control, conveyors, robotics, vision systems, and other electromechanical devices. Working hands-on with other team members to fully understand the products and their intended functionalities.
  • Capture clear photos of important details to use in documentation.
  • Support development of standard operating procedures and other process documentation as needed, such as parts diagrams and breakdowns, assembly instructions, operator manuals & user guides, maintenance & service manuals, etc.
  • Revise and/or update existing documentation to incorporate redlines and/or meet current standards.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of manufacturing, engineering, service, and quality processes and translate information into simple, easy-to-read content.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of revision control and configuration control.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some hands-on experience in a technical field highly preferred; preferably in manufacturing of sophisticated electrical, mechanical, or automation products.
  • Experience working on projects with moderate complexity
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand complex topics.
  • Previous experience generating written material and/or procedural materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and MS Teams.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or equivalent photo editing software preferred.
  • Minimal traveling may be required
