After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Promote and support the mission and objectives of the Family Services Department by providing services necessary to keeping individuals safe and promoting family wellness and preservation. Assist Domestic Abuse Advocates in case related duties. Services to be provided in a respectful manner that strengthens, empowers and is culturally sensitive.


Responsibilities:

* Provide supportive services and case related duties to include, but not limited to;

  •        Transport individuals to appointments and community resources.
  •        Assist with case related data entry or document management.
  •        Providing referrals and assisting with applications to community resources.
  •        Assist individuals with personal and daily living needs.
  •        Conduct daily check-ins for those in emergency shelter.
  •        Take initial incoming Domestic Abuse calls and send to appropriate advocate or resources and answer related questions
  •        Assist Advocates with other case related duties, as needed.

* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly (Customer service provided shall be in line with the organizations "Good Mind" core values)
* Develop positive working relationships with county, state and tribal agencies.
* Participate in all pertinent case staffing and meetings with county and other programs
* Provide updates to the Domestic Abuse Advocate and/or Supervisor on case related support and activity.
* Provide information on Family Services Department services to inquiring clients or community members.
* Facilitate and participate in meetings as needed. Participate in staff development and training programs
* Maintain professional and practice-based knowledge by attending grant/program meetings, educational workshops, trainings and conference; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional multidisciplinary work groups; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations

Skills:

Essential:
* Knowledge of available community resources
* Knowledge of the Oneida community, history, and culture and government
* Ability to exercise independent judgment and meet strict timelines
* Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondences
* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
* Ability to accurately interpret applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements
* Knowledge of the best practice standards, trauma informed care, historical trauma and strength-based approaches
* Knowledge around the dynamics of domestic abuse; individual and family dynamics; human behavior; and current social and economic conditions and the effects of these conditions on families, individuals, and the community.
* Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic math skills.
* Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment. Knowledge of Osnium software.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
*  Associate degree or 60 (sixty) credits equivalent in a Human Services/Social Work.

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal & Tribal Vehicle
* Insurance Required
Nonessential:

* Complete Oneida Certification on reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training within 90 days of employment.

Working conditions:

Experience:

Nonessential:
* One (1) year of  professional experience working with individuals affected by Domestic abuse
* Knowledge of Osnium software.
* Trauma Informed Care practices

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
