ENROLLED ONEIDA TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY

Summary:

Work with supervisor and staff to create and implement youth summer programming. Assist with the planning and attend the Oneida Elder/Youth Leadership Conference. Intern will work with elementary up to high school students. Assist supervisor and staff with all other duties assigned. 


Responsibilities:

* Work cooperatively with school personnel, parents and other community members.
* Adhere to strict confidentiality in all Oneida Nation School System matters.
* Preparation of materials and supplies for instructional use.
* Assist with supervisor and staff in creating curriculum for groups
* Participate in weekly project planning and set up

Skills:

Essential:
* Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
* Ability to work with and refer to indigenous service providers and practitioners
* Knowledge of child development and family functioning.
* Ability and willingness to provide excellent organizational skills, including planning, prioritizing, and scheduling.
* patience and be sensitive and receptive to the unique needs of students in a positive manner.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Intern Skills/Qualification/College Major

* Must have degree (or working towards a degree) in education or social work



Working conditions:

Essential:
* Office setting
* Moderate noise level
* Must be an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation

Experience:

Essential: 

*Must have one (1) year of experience working directly with youth in an education and/or wellness setting; a combination of education

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
