Position: Casual Patient Watch Security Guard
Site: Pembroke Regional Hospital- 705 MacKay Street, Pembroke
Hours: 0800/2000 (Days, Nights, Rotating Shifts)
Payrate: $18.35/hour
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) is a fully accredited, not-for-profit acute care hospital serving the Upper Ottawa Valley in eastern Ontario. PRH provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services to a largely rural and aging population, functioning as the primary regional hospital for Renfrew County west of Arnprior.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent self-harm or injury.
- Monitor and report any unusual behavior, incidents, or safety concerns to clinical and security staff.
- Maintain a respectful and non-invasive presence while observing patients.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, following facility protocols and directions.
- De-escalate situations calmly and appropriately using non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
- Document observations and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- Immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Tuberculosis Skin Tests Step 1 & 2)

- Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR-V immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.
- Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
- English (oral and written)
- Previous experience in security or a related field preferred
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to stay alert and attentive for extended periods
- Ability to work in high-stress environments
- Authorized to legally work in Canada
First Aid, CPR Level C
Judicial Matters Criminal Records Check
A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
Immunization Record for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella and two step TB skin test
