Paladin Security Services Inc. is contracted to provide security personnel to Cargill Ag Horizons site. The Guards' responsibilities are to hold the property of Cargill Ag Horizons secure against theft or damage and observe, report and record any unusual activities or malfunction of equipment or services. To also monitor and enforce company regulations (e.g. smoking areas).
The primary threat to the security of Cargill Ag Horizons is fire, due to the volatile combustible nature of the company products. In response to this threat, NFC tag stations are established throughout the plant designed to direct the Security Guard to those various areas of the plant where the threat of fire is ever present. However, please note the function of security personnel at Cargill Ag Horizons is not that of “watchman” it is an “industrial security” function, whereby we are called upon to enforce a multitude of regulations, including but not limited to, traffic control, building patrol, and access control to ensure buildings are properly secured

Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday 19:00 – 07:00hrs
Payrate: $18.35 / hour

Key responsibilities:
- Traffic control
- Foot patrols to secure buildings, dock, gates, and property.
- Access control
- Monitor and document vessel crew members
- Monitor rail gates
- Open & close property gates
- Report any violations of orders
- Be constantly alert for unusual occurrences
- Give the alarm in case of fire and carry out the special orders
- Safeguard all equipment
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security Licence for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Valid G class Driver's Licence
- Clear Driver's Record
- WHMIS Certification
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
