Overview Job Skills / Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Site Security Supervisor for a dynamic site in downtown Vancouver. In this role, you will be responsible for the supervision and direction of assigned Security Officers, training and orientation of new Officers, ensuring daily reports are submitted accurately, and supporting in scheduling. Our team at this site regularly deals with the members of the general public, helping with wayfinding, providing first aid, de-escalating conflict situations, evicting trespassers, and much more, in addition to regular patrols, surveillance, documentation, and lockups.

This position is expected to be temporary for 6-months, with a potential extension or transition to permanent.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0700-1500hrs

Pay Rate: $27.68/hour

Status: Temporary Full-Time

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year of work experience in the security industry, preferably at a large complex site
  • Minimum 1-year of supervisory, leadership, or management experience
  • Valid BC Security License
  • Excellent customer service, leadership, professionalism, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations
  • Physical ability to complete the duties of the role, including walking up to 20km per shift, up and down stairs, or over uneven ground, indoors, outdoors, and in parkades
  • Exceptional professional deportment

Responsibilities:  

  • Supervise the Security staff assigned to the site, act as a resource for all security issues, and ensure adherence to all guidelines and standards
  • Maintain and enforce all Paladin and Client policies and procedures on site and ensure the highest standard of our security program on site
  • Ensure all reports are completed with TrackTik reporting software, and each Officer submits complete and accurate daily reports and incident reports; follow up with inaccuracies or omissions
  • Review and approve all site Incident Reports and escalate incidents as required
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders while representing both the client and Paladin Security with the utmost professionalism
  • Conduct investigations and perform appropriate follow-ups when incidents and situations occur
  • Assist in site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period
  • Perform other duties as needed to meet operational demands
