Site: Cadillac Fairview- 15/16 York St (12-14 Retails Shops)
City: Downtown Toronto, ON
Status: Full-Time Days
Hours: Monday to Friday : 0800-1600
Pay Rate: $30/Hr
Category: Overtime after 44 hours (ESA)

We are seeking a seasoned Security Site Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the security department at 15 & 16 York Street, including the retail spaces at 12 & 14 York Street. This role is responsible for managing personnel, ensuring compliance with life safety regulations, implementing operational improvements, and delivering high standards of tenant service and emergency readiness. This leadership role requires excellent organizational, communication, and crisis management skills, along with a deep understanding of commercial real estate security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all on-site security personnel including Lead Hands, Control Centre Operator, Mobile Supervisor, and guards
- Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance evaluations, and team meetings
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and discipline staff as required
- Motivate and mentor team members, promoting a high-performance culture
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and drills to ensure full compliance with fire and life safety codes
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and lead monthly emergency preparedness initiatives
- Function as Incident Commander during emergencies and report to property management
- Ensure timely execution of corrective action to address compliance gaps or deficiencies
- Lead implementation of new systems and processes (e.g. CF Connect, Maximo)
- Liaise with tenants to resolve complaints, address concerns, and offer security-related support
- Coordinate emergency planning and preparedness efforts with tenants and vendors
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal teams or external stakeholders as needed
- Maintain and update security SOPs in accordance with industry best practices
- Monitor and assess incident reports to identify trends and recommend mitigation strategies
- Support ongoing and strategic security/life safety initiatives and projects
- Post-secondary education or diploma in security/life safety, risk management, or criminology preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial real estate security environment, with 1+ year in a supervisory role
- Completion of a supervisory management program (or willingness to complete upon assignment)
- Strong understanding of fire detection and suppression systems, HIRA, access control, and emergency response protocols
- Familiarity with security-related technologies and platforms such as Maximo and CF Connect
- Knowledge of applicable laws and legal authority of security personnel (use of force, search/seizure, evidence preservation, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- A collaborative team player with the ability to delegate effectively and lead by example
Emergency Management Responsibilities:
- Maintain and contribute to fire safety plans, evacuation procedures, and business continuity planning
- Lead monthly emergency drills and oversee annual
Valid Ontario Security License
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C

2 years of security supervisor experience
MOAB Training
