Job Purpose

The Director, Integrated Channel Marketing will be a key member of the Integrated Marketing Team in the strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, execution and creative development of its various initiatives and campaigns that support our Off Premise businesses. A strong team leader with the ability to think strategically about marketing campaign development for existing and innovative new business ideas.  This is a hands on role that requires strong team leadership, project management and creative development experience across multiple marketing disciplines.  Significant cross-functional communication and coordination is involved, requiring strong communication skills and follow-up integrity.

This position is responsible for all marketing programs related to our off-premise businesses, ex. Delivery, Catering, Pick-Up, Panera Kitchens and related innovative services.

The successful candidate has a strong marketing background, 10+ years of strategic marketing campaign development experience and demonstrated ability to bring strategies to life on time and on budget.  The ability to multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced environment is required – while enjoying a team environment and always emerging challenges.  Experience leading a team of direct reports and leading project teams is essential. 

This position will be located within a Support Center in St. Louis, MO or in Newton, MA.

Duties & Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:

Act as thought partner with off-premise business leads to thoroughly understand channel goals, customer targets, initiatives and business context in order to inform marketing Develop, plan and execute fully integrated marketing campaigns that support the off-premise business function. 

  • Strategic marketing campaign development leveraging customer insights and/or business goals
  • Creative brief development for external and internal agencies and marketing partners
  • Active planning with media teams/agencies to drive alignment on best use of media dollars to meet campaign goals.
  • Lead cross functional campaign planning across all aspects of marketing teams – ensuring all teams develop on-brand, on-message channel assets that support overarching campaign strategy
  • Provide strategic and creative feedback on all creative components
  • Internal communication and coordination of all campaigns to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Presentations of campaigns and strategies to leadership

Manage promotional strategy & budgets related to campaigns Act as key point of contact cross-functionally on Off-Premise marketing, representing campaigns and driving alignment across operations, finance and franchise organization. Act as SME for off-premise marketing in related projects (ex. Packaging, signage, local/field efforts, etc)

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent required.  Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience; fast casual restaurant or retail marketing experience a plus
  • Proven experience in marketing strategy planning, campaign development, project management, creative direction & feedback, media support and internal alignment.
  • Experienced people manager
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, reliable and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and manage/reprioritize multiple projects
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent team player who can work across multiple teams, lead working teams and work in a cross-functional/collaborative manner
  • Good-natured, positive, energetic yet professional attitude, a must!
