Position Summary:
Litigation Examiners are responsible for the processing of Penske and customer/insured litigated claims as well as some of the major/serious accidents and incidents involving the Company's business. This role will also coordinate, manage, and supervise claim investigations, evaluate ultimate exposures to the Company. These associates are required to handle the aforementioned matters pro-actively, in an effort to protect the financial/business interests of the organization.
This position is located at our Corporate offices in a beautiful country setting 7 miles South of Reading, PA which is a convenient commute with ample free and easy parking.

Major Responsibilities:
• Supervise and monitor claim files including interpretation of lease and rental contracts
• Coordinate, manage, and supervise claim investigations, evaluate ultimate exposures to PTL Co., LP
• Oversee all aspects of files in litigation.
• Coordinate the actions of defense counsel to achieve the most favorable resolution of the exposure.
• Work in conjunction with defense counsel to timely respond to all discovery requests.
• Attend mediations/settlement conferences when called upon
• Set the standard for the Corporate Litigation Examiners by example through technical skills and a positive work ethic.
• Provide management with narrative claim updates and monthly statistical reports
• Review and establish reserves and reports to primary and excess carriers
• Responds to all litigation related requests, i.e. tender to customer's insurance carrier, assignment of suits to defense counsel, answer interrogatories, production of documents, etc.
• Maintain trial calendar and attend pre-trial settlement conferences, mediation, and trials as required
• Manages, directs, controls expenses of service providers including TPA, investigative services and defense counsel
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5-7 years of experience in insurance claim handling required
• Independent, ability to work on your own, and self-starter
• Good oral and written communications skills required
• Computer skills including Word, Outlook, and internet required; AS400 preferred
• Prior litigation management experience is a plus
• Ability to work well with others
• Good presentation skills
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
