The UW Cancer Center at ProHealth Care has maintained Outstanding Achievement Award status from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) since 2004. The Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes cancer programs that demonstrate excellence by earning commendation for all applicable standards and providing quality care to patients with cancer.
Hours: The primary location will be Pewaukee, with 8 hour shifts staggered from 7:30 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Wednesday and 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Thursday - Friday. Weekend hours available at Pewaukee. Travel to Oconomowoc and Mukwonago may be required.
Full Time / Part Time: Pool/As Needed - no Benefits
The LPN or Medical Assistant provides direct care to patients under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician (Provider) within Cancer Center. Provide care in partnership with the patient and their family, with the goal of supporting an optimal healing community.
Some of the job responsibilities include: preparing exam rooms, ensure sufficient stock of supplies, materials, and instruments; room patients and obtain vital signs; EKG; minor office procedure assisting; request and record health history; and ensure accurate and timely documentation into the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or other patient records.
- BLS (CPR) certification required.
- Completion of an accredited LPN education program or accredited Medical Assistant program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current State of WI LPN License (for those with LPN license).
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
- At least 1 year prior experience in a physician office based LPN role preferred.
- Previous oncology experience preferred. *CA #LI-MO
