The position of Quality Inspector will be based out of our Youngstown, OH location!

 

Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of specific inventory materials. Inspection of inventory to include visual acceptable condition, and dimensional specifications. Responsible for restoration and preservation of specific materials, as well as some assembly of components and modifications of finished goods.

What You'll Do

  • Perform mechanical and visual inspections of inbound and outbound materials for kind, condition, and supplier documentation 
  • Document, tag, control, and segregate product in accordance with established procedures 
  • Coordinate contract submittals and product acceptance to quality assurance. Use controlled stamp to indicate product acceptance and certificate accuracy 
  • Work with external customers, internal customers, suppliers, and business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance 
  • Performs sample lot inspections of drawing characteristics and initiates discrepancy reports and hold notices 
  • Maintain training records 
  • Maintain equipment calibration 
  • Coordinate with customer quality resources, as needed, when corrective actions flows from the customer to the supply base 
  • Reviews and interprets customer requirements; reviews and approves supplier quality documentation 
  • Supports internal and external organization and standardization (ISO) audits 
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • High School or GED    
  • Associate's degree or Trade School in Quality/Material Composition, Non-Destructive testing or equivalent program preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in the Industrial industry, Distribution environment, or equivalent experience
  • Prior inspection and/or quality control experience
  • Previous ISO Quality Systems experience a plus 
  • Previous Global Company experience a plus
  • Statistics training and experience a plus
  • Quality Certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent math background (i.e. Algebra, Geometry, Fractions, Decimals, and Conversions) 
  • Familiar with interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications, and manufacturing process evaluation 
  • Familiar with process control tools 
  • Ability to exhibit a strong perception in all areas of quality assurance 
  • Attention to detail and follow-up 
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Proven track record of the highest integrity level
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of and application of UL/CE/CSA/IEC/ASTN/ANSI and other relevant Global Regulatory Codes
