Summary:
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of transportation personnel responsible for routing deliveries and drivers in the most efficient way possible while maintaining delivery metrics and safety polices. Will also be responsible for hiring, training, completing performance reviews, and ensuring jobs are correctly implemented, assigned, and completed with a high level of customer service.
What You'll Do:
- Coordinate daily route planning, staffing, and load balancing activities
- Ensure all vehicles, drivers, and processes meet both Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
- Supervise and responsible for the complete and accurate loading process of material going out for delivery
- Ensure manifest integrity for all loads
- Provide leadership, motivation and education for personnel directly involved with delivery operations
- Schedule deliveries and dispatch drivers based on requirements of the customer as communicated through various media channels
- Keep accurate record of deliveries and ensure manifests are properly closed
- Coordinate and communicate daily on-demand services as needed
- Ensure all assets are maintained consistent with company expectations
- Responsible for building and vehicle maintenance, safety, and security
- Work closely with internal and external managers, and customers to ensure an exceptional delivery experience at a sustainable cost
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School or GED - Required
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
- Knowledge of WMS and TMS systems, routing, and transportation telematics
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Organization and time management skills, detail oriented, able to prioritize in a multi-tasking environment and ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
