Richardson's UK operations encompass oat milling, malting, animal feed and ingredient processing. Operating under Richardson Oat Milling, Crisp Malt, EDME, and Micronized Food Products (MFP), Richardson supplies the domestic and international food, brewing, and distilling industries.
We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) at our EDME site, Mistley location.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor and Manager, the Mechanical and Electrical engineers carry out planned and reactive maintenance of all the site and plant equipment to ensure the required levels are achieved. This position also provides call out cover for out of hours breakdowns.
Key Duties and responsibilities
Carry out planned or reactive maintenance during shift.
Contribute to continuous improvement around site by maintaining, identifying and reporting any areas of interest to Engineering Manager.
Complete maintenance paperwork or computer work in line with company procedures.
Ensure lines are running in line with regulations and legislations.
Ensure compliance to Health and Safety regulations/procedures are always kept.
Work with Engineering Manager and Engineering Supervisor to make sure all necessary training is carried out.
Report any breaches in EDME procedures to your line manager as soon as possible to ensure EDME requirements and legal requirements are met.
Report any Hazards, Near Misses and Unsafe acts/conditions when any are found to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant, where appropriate.
Carry out other duties from time to time that may be reasonably requested.
Maintain high levels of engineering hygiene and housekeeping.
Continued personal development by keeping up to date with new techniques, processes, and equipment, undertaking training courses and in house training, as required.

Strong communication skills

Desirable
Experience working in Food Manufacturing
Material Handling Systems, Bucket Elevators, Belt Conveyors, Screws, Diverters etc.
Demonstratable ability in Mechanical Testing, fault finding, installation & inspection.
FLT Licence
