Summary

The Tax Manager will be responsible for the advanced income tax processes, which supports critical business operations between the tax department, finance department and regulatory agencies/jurisdictions, in such a way as to meet and exceed objectives by performing the following duties.

In this role, you will
  • Prepare and review of Federal, state and local income tax returns including all related analysis and support
  • Support quarterly taxable income projections of multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Assist with year-end accounting and audit support for income taxes under ASC 740
  • Team with internal and external resources to provide timely tax advice on various transactions and potential transactions 
  • Prepare and review property taxes, annual reports and other miscellaneous compliance while meeting all internal and external deadlines
  • Aid with tax controversies and audits
  • Maximize Federal and state tax incentives related to employment, capital expenditures and other government programs
  • Maintain fixed assets for tax returns and reconcile with GAAP fixed assets
  • Monitor new tax regulations and help quantify impact to RNDC stakeholders
  • Build and improve upon existing processes to increase efficiency
     
What you bring to RNDC
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; ten (10) or more years of experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department, or fifteen (15) years of equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. income tax processes, tax workpapers, audit procedures for federal and state tax agencies, and corporate tax planning strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); ability to learn ERP systems such as Oracle and specialized tax software.
  • CPA and/or MBT preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical tax materials and regulations; write clear reports; and effectively present information to internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
  • Strong algebraic and analytical skills; ability to interpret complex tax data and develop accurate conclusions.
  • Skilled in identifying tax-related issues, collecting and analyzing data, and recommending actionable solutions to support compliance and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving operational tax processes and identifying tax incentive opportunities.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds; requires close and distance vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Primarily office-based with minimal travel required.

 Compensation

This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with California state law. Similar positions located outside of this jurisdiction may not necessarily receive the same compensation. The salary generally starts at $110,000, and is a combination of base salary plus monthly earned commissions if applicable. The salary is an estimate based on an applicant's skills and experience.
